Eddie finally relaxes into the bus seat after a long day at work.

Only for a few minutes, as at the next stop and a man and his young daughter gets on. He offers his seat up to them, the last bus seat beside him, for them to sit together. the man, who might he say is ridiculously handsome, ever so politely refuses, but his daughter sits and he hangs onto the hanging clasp above her.

The bus takes off again and Eddie reaches down into his bag for his headphones. As he’s searching, he can see out of the corner of his eye the young girl watching him intently, her father lightly tapping on her shoulder to get her to look away. And yeah, Eddie’s wearing a shirt that might classify more as a scrap of fabric at this point. And yeah, he knows what he looks like—scars puckering and pink on his torso, arms, and neck. And yeah, she’s just a kid, but the looking, no matter how pure, still makes his skin itch.

The girl manages to look away and direct her gaze to her dad, innocently asking, “What are those marks from, Dad?”

“I’m not sure sweetheart,” Sweetheart. Eddie swoons just a bit. “But don’t stare, ‘kay?”

“Okay,” She smiles sweetly at her father, as he sends Eddie an apologetic smile when he sits up. “Are you sure he’s not a fairy?”

The man’s face drops, Eddie can feel a beginning of a smile creep on his own.

“I don’t know bab-“

“Or maybe he’s a dragon!” Eddie’s got a wide grin on his face as he turns to the girl, her father dropping his head in defeat.

“Shhhhhhh- I can’t believe you figured out my secret!” He says to her sternly, his smile however ruins the effect completely.

She lightly giggles at him, “I promise i won’t tell anyone!”

“Pinky promise?” He holds out his pinky finger.

“Pinky promise!” She curls her small one around his before letting go and looking back out the window.

the dad is pink in the face, surely embarrassed. Eddie can’t help but catch his eyes and smile at him, letting him know it’s alright.

He’d much rather be cool than scary to kids.

Just as he’s about to say something to him, the bight eyed kid speaks up again, “My name is Frankie, I like your makeup.”

Awe hell, she even holds out her little hand for a handshake. Eddie clasps it gently, “And my name is Eddie, I like your dress.” She grins at him.

“See Dad, it’s not hard to talk to people,” she looks up to the man in question then back to Eddie, “That’s my dad, his name is Steve.”

Eddie looks up, “Well it’s nice to meet you Steve—“ and back down again, ”and Frankie.”

“Pleasures allllll mine,” She says, smirk on her face. God she’s a cutie. Maybe kids aren’t too bad. “Dad, you should ask Eddie out.”

Steve nearly chokes on nothing.

He takes it back, kids are amazing.

This is Brandy River Offdensen, Charles' adoptive daughter. He found her all feral and alone in the woods a couple years prior to season 1. But since Charles is doing enough work with patience, she is finally adapting well to a normal life! <3
